You know, almost anything that involves non cooperation with a Peace Officer gets an enhancement to the charge when a Peace Officer involved. Things like resisting arrest, assault on an officer, and other similar charges.
But, you know . . . When Cops do wrong, there is no enhancement to charges against them. And frankly I have heard enough about “dirty” cops lately. I think;
- any Public Official, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Judge, and Other person with the responsibility to serve the public, that does wrong under color of authority should have a Special Enhancement added to whatever they are charged with that adds an additional 50% of the original penalty.
- Any Public Official, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Judge, and Other person with the responsibility to serve the public, that does wrong while off duty, should receive a Special Enhancement added to whatever they are charged with hat adds an additional 25% of the original penalty.
Now, what makes me feel such penalty a necessity? Far too many Cops are conducting themselves as they are “human” just like everybody else . . . When they truly are not. And, it is time that all Public Officials either “put up” or “shut up” if they want to have credibility on today’s streets. I am tired of seeing different treatment to different people. You see, the Blacks have it wrong. It really does not matter so much the color of your skin to most Cops, it is more a case of unfair treatment based upon money. Lower Income people of all colors get treated significantly worse than those of middle or high income neighborhoods. There is no voice to “champion” white people in lower income neighborhoods as there is for Blacks. In other words, lower income whites get treated just as negatively as Blacks in the neighborhood, just nobody cares to even talk about the abuse to whites. You may find this hard to believe but it is quite true. Lower income white kids are followed just like black kids in stores and generally treated with the same suspicions as everybody else in the same income group. Sure, there is one or two Cops that are racial, but all of them treat people of low income like crap.
When Cops come looking for cars to impound for registration issues, they do not go to the middle or upper class neighborhoods. They go to lower income neighborhoods. This is not to suggest that middle or upper class neighborhoods don’t have registration violations, they do, and they have much better excuses for the violation. When your excuse is “I haven’t made enough money to pay it yet,” nobody cares. Also, lower income neighborhoods are filled with people that may not have legal citizenship, and none in the neighborhood can bring a law suit against a police agency with any sort of credibility, because nobody believes the lower income have any credibility.
And, more people in lower income neighborhoods are subjected to rights violations and physical abuse by Law Enforcement than anywhere else. But, it is not just Law Enforcement that treats the lower income like crap. The Water Company, the Electric Company, Emergency Services, and even the local store employees tend to treat people of lower income as though they are criminals, regardless of race. It is as if, just because you live in a certain area, you are not as good, as honest, or as hard working as the rest of society. And, Cops feed on the poor just because they know the poor cannot fight back. The poor do not have the money to fight back. But, then if they did, they would move to a neighborhood where they were treated better.
I have yet to observe anybody actually research my claims, but I promise you, that if they did you would be amazed at the findings.
