You do not have to be a whale watcher to see the majesty of a whale. Something about a creature so large and it’s gentle association with others is just wonderful to witness. And a whale in the wild is much more appealing than one in captivity.
The subject story is about some surfers in Australia that had the pleasure of sharing their waves with a couple of large whales, and a pod of porpoises. If you have never experienced either of these beautiful creatures in the wild, you are missing out on a “must” see event.
I have seen whales numerous times while at sea with the Navy and on many trips into and out of port have been greeted by pods of porpoises leading and following us, playing in the wake. I have always had an attachment to the sea. I even find living aboard a boat much more comfortable than a normal land based home. It is a shame I cannot afford the 1\2 billion dollars for the 591 foot long ECLIPSE yacht that was recently built. I could do some serious whale watching on it . . . lol
