Blame it on the violent computer game . . .
The subject story tells about an 8 year old boy in Louisiana that is at his Grandmothers house playing video games. The story continues with the same 8 year old boy somehow gets a gun and shoots his 90 year old Grandmother in the head. Grandma is pronounced dead at the scene, and because the boy is not yet of age to understand his actions wrong, cannot be charged with the crime that the Police are calling an intentional homicide.
This situation plays out almost daily in America, and we continue to do nothing to stop it. It really is simple to prevent the use of a gun by anyone other than the person intended to use it. All it takes is a few moments and a “trigger lock” that you can purchase at damn near any “sporting goods” store.
I will bet that in today’s news alone, I can find at least three instances of kids killing somebody with a gun they should not have had. Seriously folks, TRIGGER LOCK! Any day, I expect to hear a new law on the books that makes the gun owner responsible for it’s use. So, if you leave your gun laying about and a kid picks it up and kills somebody, the gun owner gets charged with murder. It is going to happen, mark my words
