Recap some of the loss by sale through the Bureau of Printing and Engraving.

Money factory botches new $100 bills

The United States Bureau Of Printing And Engraving sells money to collectors in sheets, half-sheets, and other configurations. I’ll bet that were they to offer these botched bills to collectors they would be able to recap a good deal of their loss on the error.

I imagine the bills would have to be marked somehow to make them a non-negotiable note, but even that cost could be built into the sale. They could sell each $100.00 note for $0.50 and make double their loss easily.
