I have not victimized any minority person . . .
The subject story tells us about a homeless man, a homeless man with a gun. This homeless man decides that he wants someone to apologize for the wrongs committed to black people over the years. So, he takes out his gun, puts it to a white mans head and makes him apologize, and then walks off.
Okay, we all know I have a problem with this. Why do I have a problem with this? Because during the past 50 years neither myself, my family, or my friends have enslaved no one, we have not participated in any form of hatred towards any race, nor have we claimed superiority over any other person world-wide. I wasn’t even alive when black people were slaves, and come to think of it most black people alive today were not alive back then either. So, I did nothing to you. The real atrocity of slavery was not done to you either.
The real wrong-doing of slavery took place long ago. Yes, your ancestors were victims of slavery. You were not. My great great Grandfather may have been killed freeing the slaves, I was not. So, let’s put what happened to others in the past, in the past. For close to fifty years, I have supported equal rights for all men. You have supported equal rights for black men while blaming all white men for anything that has happened to anyone of color, regardless of right or wrong.
I have marched in protest of unfair treatment of blacks and other minorities. I have participated in protests relevant to black people victims of police or other wrong committed to them. You have not yet once stood beside me to protest the act of a wrong committed by a black person against a white person.
I have never participated in the physical assault of a person of color because of the color of their skin. I have however been victim to assault upon myself by blacks because of the color of my skin.
I do not tolerate racial discussion or racial abuse in my home, you do. I continue to speak out and support equal rights of all men regardless of color, religion, or sexual preference. You continue to blame me for wrongs I have not ever committed against you, your race, or any other consideration.
So, what is wrong with this picture? The primary problem with this picture is you. You blame me because of the color of my skin for things that have happened to people of the black race. I am sorry, but doesn’t that make you a racist? Why, yes it does. And, that my friend is the true problem. So, how are you going to fix your problem? Because there are a whole bunch of black folks that do not like me because I am white.
I guess my point is, if you come up to me and shove a gun in my face asking for an apology for wrongs committed to blacks by whites. I am screwed. Because you would have to shoot me as I have done nothing to you.
