Does it not bother anyone that Police are using Child Porn Sites to attract and arrest viewers?

John Grisham apologizes for remarks on child porn – CNN.com

John Grisham discusses a friend of his that was sent to prison for child pornography because he visited a kiddie porn web site set up by police to arrest site visitors. As much as pedophiles offend me, Police using kiddie porn to attract anybody offends me worse. If it is unacceptable to view child pornography, it is damn sure unacceptable for the police to make a web site for which to view it. I DO NOT give a hairy rat’s ass how you justify it, it is wrong. Whose pictures are on the police kiddie porn site? Your kids? My kids? There is absolutely no excuse for Law Enforcement breaking the laws to entrap people they attract. This is just plain stupidity. The Policeman’s job is to PREVENT crime, not CREATE crime.

I swear to God, the world is lucky I was not born a man of wealth and influence, I would tear down any police agency that used such tactics and replace them with unarmed security guards making minimum wage. At least then it would be understandable when paid law enforcement agencies act like they do not know right from wrong. Do you understand that Law Enforcement is not uneducated, not untrained, and not without legal counsel  to advise them what is right and wrong. YOU DO NOT BREAK THE LAW TO PREVENT CRIME. If you do, you have already committed a crime, and you should be arrested also. Law Enforcement used to have rules, policy, and laws that they had to follow. They used to protect the People’s Constitutional Rights. What kind of Law Enforcement does stuff like this? Law Enforcement do your job right!

  1. I totally understand what you are saying and I agree. I do ask myself though what the best way would be to get those sickos faster. And I guess that must have been the idea behind this whole weird idea…

    • I do not have a problem with arresting bad guys, so long as you stay a good guy to do so. If you have to violate the law or create a situation that entices people to act against the law, to enforce the law, you are not doing your job. Think of a person that had no interest in kiddie porn that tumbled across that web site. While there whose pics is he looking at? Did the police obtain a release from every parent of the children on the site? A cop distributing porn is no different than a cop selling drugs. YOU JUST DO NOT DO IT! It amazes me that somehow people can justify it. Here’s the challenge . . . Your 6 year old son or daughter is included in the nude pics on the web site. You do not know it, but the sex offender down the street that sees your kids every day going to school knows about your kids on the site, does it matter? Somebody’s children are on the site and the cops should not of ever even considered building a kiddie porn web site regardless their justification. Next we will have cops selling drugs in front of the schools in hopes of catching drug users. There are certain lines that should never be crossed, kiddie porn is one of them.

      • Please don’t get me wrong! I absolutely agree with you! There is nothing that justifies it. Well I guess the part with cops selling drugs is already happening (under cover cops). But I agree that there is no way they should be distributing kids porn! I was not really following it just heard about it. Is there an official statement by the police about the use of the children porn or not? Did anybody bring it up (media) at all so far?

      • OI read it on CNN. The story is about John Grisham speaking light about pedophiles. He talks about the cops building a kiddie porn site and arresting a friend of his. Just the idea makes me feel we have missed something very important in both the way police are conducting business and how arrests are being made. Actually, the fact that the media isn’t all over this to bring it to the public’s attention makes me question the validity of the information. The fact that nobody is screaming about it in case it is real makes me question whether anyone is even paying attention.
